Astrology, practised well, is not fortune-telling. It is timing, perspective and counsel — a way of seeing your situation clearly enough to act on it with confidence.
That is the whole of it. Everything on this page is simply how three generations arrived at that sentence.
How it began
I did not learn astrology from a book. I learned it by watching.
People would arrive at our home carrying something heavy — a marriage that worried them, a career at a crossroad, a business decision that stole their sleep. I watched them come in tense. I watched them leave lighter.
What stayed with me was never the astrology. It was that change on their faces. They had not come for predictions — they had come to be understood, and to leave with a clear head. Long before I could read a chart, I understood what a chart was for.

Then & now

I never stopped practising. But I also wanted to understand the world my clients actually live in — so I took an MBA in Finance and built a career in banking, including years at ICICI Bank, while continuing to read charts alongside it.
I learned how businesses think, how decisions are weighed under pressure, and how much rests on getting the timing right. And I learned it in the same years I was sitting with people on the other side of that desk, hearing what those pressures actually cost them.
But the questions that keep people awake are rarely only about money. They are about direction, family, and the courage to act. In time I gave the practice my full attention — carrying into it something neither my father nor my grandfather had: a place in the modern world my clients come from.
The family
A practice does not become trusted because it is old. It becomes trusted because something inside it refuses to change.
For over sixty years, across three generations, the Pathak family has been sought out for the same reason — not to be told what will happen, but to be helped to decide. What follows is not a family tree. It is the line along which that one principle has been handed down.
Father & Guru · The Teacher
Richa's father and her teacher. What she knows, she learned at his side — not from texts alone, but from years of sitting in on consultations and being shown how a chart becomes counsel. His discipline of never predicting beyond what the chart supports is the discipline she practises today.
Mother · The Practice, Lived Daily
An astrologer in her own right. Because of her, the tradition Richa grew up inside was never something men did in a separate room — it was practised on both sides of the family, every day. Richa did not become a woman astrologer by exception; she came from a line where women already practised.
The Third Generation · Carrying It Forward
Vedic astrologer, Vastu consultant and numerologist. She inherited the method and the standard, and brought to them something new — a working understanding of the modern professional life her clients are actually asking her about.
In the late nineteen-sixties, before he left Jabalpur, Osho was a familiar presence in the city's intellectual life — lecturing, and drawing scholars into long public debates. Richa's father, Pt. Shri Shiv Prasad Pathak, attended many of them.
In one private conversation in 1968, Osho — knowing he was speaking to an astrologer — offered a remark the family has repeated ever since:

He was speaking to a young man in a small city, about a century that had not yet begun.
"My father heard it as a young man," Richa says. "I see it proven every single day."
The standards
Three generations, three temperaments, one standard. These four things have never been negotiable in this family — and they are what you can expect when you sit down with me.
